T.S. Eliot wrote the long poem The Waste Land. Literary critics generally agree that it is one of the most important modernist poems of the 20th century, if not the most important. There are five sections to the poem: The Burial of the Dead, which deals with themes of hopelessness and disappointment; The narrative of „A Game of Chess“ riffs on the same ideas; The Fire Lesson,“ an investigation of death and ideas of forbearance; “ Death by Water,” a protest song; furthermore, at last, „What the Thunder Said,“ which closes the sonnet on serious areas of strength for an of unforgiving judgment.
You might be thinking, „Okay, nerd, what the fuck does this have to do with porn?“ at this point. What’s more, to that I say, quiet the screw down, you eager savage, I’m arriving. The poem The Waste Land served as the basis for the BDSM website: Wasteland.com. And if you actually stop to use the few functioning brain cells you still have, you might be able to understand why the creators of a BDSM fetish website might find inspiration in Eliot’s poem. In fact, they include a version of the poem on the website, along with black-and-white photographs of women in bondage.
To begin, Wasteland.com takes great pride in being a haven for “The darker side of desire,” as their slogan suggests. One simple explanation for why this porn site would pay tribute to a poem is when this is combined with the fact that many images in Eliot’s poem blend pain and pleasure almost indistinguishably. I’m sure I could go on and bore you to the point of torture, but I’ll let the kinksters and fetishists of Waste Land, which is so much more than just a porn site, do the torturing.
So Much More Than Just Porn From the moment you log into Waste Land’s members‘ area, you might be taken aback. This site seems to be the common premium compensation pornography site that you are probable familiar with. A banner will be the first thing you see instead of a menu bar at the top of the page that borders a gallery of video thumbnails. A pennant that seems as though it very well may be a collection cover for an ’80s metal band: a closeup of a delightful, enticing blonde with a thick silver collar around her neck is the foundation to the site’s logo, the text suggestive of Iron Lady.
You might start to wonder, „hey, where the fuck’s the porn?“ as you scroll down below that. Be patient once again. A line from Edgar Allan Poe’s „The Raven“ can be found below the banner: I stood there for a long time peering deep into the darkness, wondering, fearing, and doubting while dreaming fantasies that no mortal had ever dared to imagine before. I’ve never seen a porn site with such a strong appreciation for literature before. In the context of BDSM, I adore the concept of „dreaming dreams no mortal ever dared to dream before.“ It really conveys the beautiful brutality of bondage, which is why you came here in the first place.
The mission statement for Waste Land will then greet you: Since 1994, to explore and celebrate safe, sane, and consensual kinky sexuality for the fetish and bdsm communities through film, photography, and writing. Since 1994, this website has been in operation? This has to be one of the sites with the longest history, and you probably haven’t heard of it. True, a sinister and shady secret.
Additionally, Waste Land is more than just fetish porn, as you can already infer from their mission statement. It is a whole community of fetishists that provides erotic literature, photographs, films, events, news, interviews, a marketplace, educational materials, personal ads, games, and even erotic literature. Sites like Fetlife appear to have been influenced by Waste Land. It started out as the first online kink community.
An Outright Behemoth of a Site
All things considered, fuck, where do I at any point start? I feel somewhat lost in the Waste Land because there is just so much to choose from here. We should begin by investigating the motion pictures segment of the site, since I know your wickedly tingling for some pornography after that talk on pioneer verse that I gave you before. The site had a total of 1,583 movies at the time of this review. However, the website is updated on Monday, Wednesday, and Friday. Thus, chances are, when you read this, that number will likely have gone up.
However, based on what I’ve learned, I think that number refers to all of Waste Land’s original films. There are two sections for movies: Unique HD Motion pictures and Full-Length Component Movies. Therefore, we might be able to get a more accurate picture of the quantity of video content on Waste Land by doubling that number, which would put us somewhere in the 3,000 range. In addition, since half of them are full-length feature films and there are weekly updates, you probably won’t run out of porn to watch.
Additionally, if you ever get bored with the video content, you can always visit one of Waste Land’s numerous large photo gallery websites. The website includes links to the Dark Garden photo gallery in addition to their own original image collection. In addition, Sensuous Sadie’s Corner (photography, podcasts, musings, etc.) is available for your perusal. from Sensuous Sadie, a well-known BDSM personality and author), Waste Land Party Pics (photos from the world-famous Waste Land fetish parties that take place annually in Amsterdam), Weekly Fetish Models, Asian Underground Images (rare hardcore Japanese photography), and House of Japanese Bondage (for which the description reads, „A realm of beauty and horror, shadow and light, tradition and anarchy, fear and ecstasy—all await you herein)“
Don’t worry if all of this isn’t enough for you; I’ve only touched the surface of what this website has to offer. If that’s your thing, check out Waste Land’s very own live cam site, which is obviously heavily fetishized. Or, you can join Waste Land’s community section, a free social network for site members, to meet people who share your interests. Upload pictures, make a profile, interact with other members, and maybe even find a new playmate. Alternately, you can post and comment on Waste Land’s forum if you’re just interested in engaging in amusing conversation in greater anonymity. Perhaps you prefer the interactive 3D chat game. That’s always an option if that’s the case.
Don’t worry if this way of life is new to you. To get you started, Waste Land has a lot of literature on BDSM culture and safety. Check out some helpfully descriptive how-to guides, brush up on your practical sex magick knowledge, learn from the Dungeon Master of Blackthorne Manner in his insightful commentary videos, or study some step-by-step instructions in the art of Japanese rope bondage thanks to the Shibari Workshop to learn the art of rope bondage. Other resources include the BDSM knowledge base.
There is no way out of the Wasteland. Holy crap, there is just way too much to do on this website. I know I won’t get to everything. The only way to really know for sure is to visit the Waste Land. This is effectively the most huge and the most clever pornography site I’ve at any point been on. It has a lot to recommend it, including its literary bent, educational materials, high-quality content, and large, engaged community. You could fall into this site like Alice’s deep, dark hole and joyfully never return.
I would say that the design of the website is my only gripe with it. Don’t get me wrong; the website is well-organized and easy to navigate (as well as allowing you to discover and explore previously unknown aspects of the community). My issue is not rooted in that. My problem is that the website just looks really old to me. I hate to say it, but it really shows that it was designed in the early 1990s.
The design of the website is very text-heavy. Not that reading text is a problem for me. All I can say is that I think the website could probably use a little more work. The displays, for instance, are one spot to look. Instead of providing an index of links to galleries with titles such as „gallery 4“ or similar, They might be able to use thumbnails to make the site look a little cleaner and more streamlined.
This website blew me away, with the exception of one issue I had with the out-of-date design. Even if you’re just curious and interested in learning more about BDSM and fetish culture, you have to sign up for this site, which I don’t normally recommend so openly. You won’t want to leave at all; If you stayed for ever, you wouldn’t run out of dark pleasures either.
