I really wasn’t looking forward to reviewing the horror section of AdultEmpire, but when I saw Lexi Belle on the first page of results, I thought maybe there was potential there. Look, if I haven’t already made it abundantly clear, horror porn used to be extremely boring. It lacked motivation. It seemed precisely like each and every kind of filth, aside from it professed to be repulsiveness themed.
Since AdultEmpire has videos from more than two decades ago, you can imagine that the majority of the content on this site is extremely disappointing in terms of how much it indulges in horror values. The entire thing is a joke. Although there is a nearly endless collection of high-quality smutty with Lexi Belle and other characters, what exactly are they doing to justify the horror label? next to nothing at all. There are a few passing allusions, like in the movie’s title, but other than that, you’re just paying for a regular smut movie.
Can’t Tell the Difference Between Old and New The horror genre took a very long time, over many years, to become a genre that producers truly cared about. The industry simply wasn’t ready for proper horror in porn in the past, not that directors were sitting on their asses for all those years. No one took the chance because it was too expensive. They won’t bother hiring a special effects team if they know that the movie won’t make money. Fortunately, this selection on AdultEmpire includes a slew of brand-new pornographic films with significantly higher production values than we were accustomed to in the past.
Sadly, it does not appear that these movies can be sorted by release date. Yes, there is a release date section that appears to allow you to view the most recent movies of the week, month, and year; I tried it. What did I discover when I looked at the most recent releases? a film from 2008 The date these movies were uploaded to AdultEmpire rather than their official release date is listed for these movies. Information like this is completely pointless. It’s as if you went to a laptop store to buy a new computer and were shown a brand-new notebook from 1998. It is not brand-new because of that, damn it. Nothing works in that way. I despise the fact that these movies can’t be sorted in any way at all.
As things stand right now, your best bet for understanding these titles is to just jump in and watch the trailers. There are trailers for each of these movies, and they do a decent job of showing you what to expect. Additionally, I am pleased with the films‘ overall quality because they are all being delivered in their original resolution. That can’t be a problem for me. In general, the website is selling smut well. My beef is with the lack of proper horror.
Buffy the Vampire Layer The initial conception of horror porn appeared to have something to do with a propensity for film parodies. I have no idea why or how. It would make sense if they merely parodied horror films and attempted to actually frighten or at least convey a sense of dread, but that is not the case. These films don’t scare. Do you recall the title Lexi Belle that I mentioned earlier? Although the film itself is a parody of Buffy the Vampire Slayer, she does a great job getting slapped. I assume you are aware of that show. the one that kids used to like to watch? Even though it was intended for young adults (18 and up), the show was uninteresting and certainly not scary. It’s just a casual show about witches. Additionally, Buffy was not a vampire but a vampire slayer. It is explicitly stated in the title.
Why the hell does Buffy XXX’s Lexi Belle title include the following tagline? She is irritating, but in a good way. It also implies that Buffy is the vampire, despite the fact that that is an absolutely ridiculous and uninspired tagline. However, she clearly is not a vampire because the cover photo features a stake. I know this is getting out of hand, but when you run a themed page on a larger content site, you have to at least take into account the fact that some people actually care about the theme. Okay, so this isn’t decorative. The least you can do is to treat your job with seriousness if you anticipate that people will pay a high price for this stench.
Essentially a Marketplace Despite this, AdultEmpire is not directly behind these productions. They only participate in their sale. They are not a pornographic studio but rather a video purchasing platform. This makes things a little more difficult. First and foremost, due to their lack of direct involvement, they owe you nothing in terms of content quality. They only need to deliver the video to you in the same manner as they received it. The timing issue is the second issue. The majority of brand-new pornographic works arrive on AdultEmpire promptly, shortly after being officially released by their studios. AdultEmpire appears to have a contract with those studios. It’s not hard at all.
AdultEmpire, on the other hand, tries to limit videos from random sources that also specialize in professional smut, which is where the seemingly endless backlog of old videos comes in. There are thousands of videos that were made years ago but never really got a lot of attention. They didn’t have any problems; they just didn’t get the same digital marketing as videos do now. As a result, you end up seeing them here alongside the brand-new films that were released just yesterday, years after their release. It’s a terrible system.
What you see is what you get. If the two kinds of smut were separated in some way across sections, then this would work really well. However, they are not. The videos are all stacked together. When it comes to horror porn, anything that started out as a movie that said it contained some kind of horror will end up here. I have never seen a better system than that. This needs to be addressed, but given AdultEmpire’s insanely successful status, I doubt they care.
It is safe to say that any commentary on the quality of the videos is a waste of time given how widely AdultEmpire offers and how unconnected they are to the production of the smut. It would be more useful to simply yell my viewpoints through of my window or dump them on a pornography discussion some place. It will never be discussed with the original porn studios.
Modern vs. Retro The first category of horror porn on AdultEmpire is retro shit, which was released around 2010. Since it is only a decade old, I probably shouldn’t call it „retro,“ but I don’t know what to call pornography that clearly belongs in another generation. Last generation? Okay, we’ll stick with that. The makeup and general set-up of the scenes in last-gen horror porn help convey the spooky atmosphere, and there are references to popular horror films and characters. This might make allusions to something more recent like The Ring or something older like Scooby Doo. You can get the gist. This applies to Buffy the Vampire Slayer.
On the other hand, there are more recent versions with a lot of special effects and framing. They even use film cameras rather than the usual pornographic film cameras. Although I am not an expert on cameras, I can tell the difference when I see it. Most pornographic films are shot with a short lens that only shows the action. They even use that lens to focus on the buttocks. It doesn’t exactly feel like a movie. It is more of an genital display. When the pornstars are in the frame having scary conversations and other things, the movie lenses give you a nice wide shot and make things even more dramatic. When the fucking begins, these movies sell you on the spooky elements much better.
Scare me Horny Proper horror films, especially those with real exposition, should build on the terror that has already been established rather than abandoning it and moving on like a typical shitshow. It is not a genuine horror production if, halfway through the action, you forget that you are watching a horror smut flick. It’s merely a marketing ploy.
AdultEmpire sticks to their name and their tradition when it comes to pricing. No matter when they were released, these movies cost a fortune. From what I can tell, every movie costs more than $10, with some costing as much as $30. The prices can vary, and if you just want to watch the movie online instead of downloading it, you’ll naturally get a discount. Observe the prices for yourself. It’s crazy and expensive, and you have to pay for each video.
